My name is Edimar Calebe Castanho — you can call me Calebe. I’m a senior software engineer, but this blog isn’t about resumes or “thought leadership.” It’s about the things I do in my free time and at work, stumbles included.
What you’ll find around here
This site runs on Quartz 4, static, self-hosted, with no third-party tracker beyond Plausible (which respects privacy). No pop-ups, no forced newsletter, no cookie banner — just content.
Navigation is simple:
- Posts — Full articles and tutorials. Mechanical keyboards, self-hosting, games in C/SDL2, ESP32, DIY guitar pedals, and whatever else comes up. This is where I document projects from start to finish, with code, photos, and the dead ends I hit along the way.
- Notes — Quick notes. You’re here right now. Short stuff: a command that solved a problem, a link worth saving, a glossary. Without the structure of a full post.
- Uses — The tools and technologies I use day-to-day. Hardware, software, configurations.
- Glossary — Technical terms that show up in posts. If I mention Plexi or JCM800 and you don’t know what it is, come here.
What this blog isn’t
It’s not a portfolio. It’s not a Medium-style “10 tips to be more productive in 2026.” It’s not a place for overly polished text. I write like I talk — direct, enthusiastic, and honest about what didn’t work. If I fried an ATMEGA328 by hooking up VCC backwards, that’s going in the post. If a bash script solved a problem I spent three hours trying to fix in Python, that goes in too.
Why it exists
Because I believe documenting is part of learning. Every post I write forces me to understand the subject better than I thought I did when I started. And if it helps someone who’s in the same dead end I was, even better.
